Announcing the 2023 UTC Finals

It’s been an incredibly busy year with the release of a new edition of Warhammer 40,000 and more competitive events than ever before. As the inaugural season of the Unified Tournament Circuit comes to a close, we’re excited to announce that there will be a final event to cap off the 2023 season and crown champions for Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000.

This Final Event of the 2023 UTC season will be held at Tables and Towers in Westminster, Maryland on January 13th, and 14th, 2024. This event will include the following tournaments:

  • The Invitational finale for Warhammer 40k, a 32-player, 5-round GT
  • The Invitational finale for Age of Sigmar, a 32-player, 5-round GT
  • An open GT for Warhammer 40k, a 32-player, 5-round GT event
  • An open GT for Kill Team, a 32-player, 5-round event

Players for each invitational will be chosen from the top 32 ranked players in the Unified Tournament, with the next 32 for each game being designated as alternates.

More than $10,000 in Prize Support

We’re also excited to announce that this event will be featuring cash prizes for the winners, with more than $10,000 at stake in total prizes. Additional prize support will be provided by Tables and Towers, Goonhammer, and Fabricator’s Forge

Finally, winners for each event will receive a ticket to the 2024 World Championships of Warhammer.* Events will also be ITC scored.

Event Invitations

Event invitations will go out in December, 2023, with alternates to be designated immediately following. The cutoff date for making the UTC top 32 in Warhammer 40k and Age of Sigmar is December 12, 2023. In the event that players cannot make the invitational, their invites will be passed on to alternates. Empty spots on the day of the event will be filled by players from the open GT, going in order of UTC rank.

You can view the current, up to date UTC rankings here: https://utc.goonhammer.com/#standingsAll

While some of our top spots in the top 32 are likely set, there are more than a few players in the top 32 who don’t have 6 recorded events yet, and even more outside. That means that if you’re looking to score an invite, a pair of decent RTT scores may be all you need to break through. You can see our calendar of UTC events on the events page – there’s still a ton left between now and mid-December.

More details to follow in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
