Content We Liked: 29th October, 2023

Although it’s a big internet out there, the Tabletop digital universe is pretty small and spread out. In Content We Liked, we take a look at the articles, videos, podcasts, and products that caught our eyes or were noteworthy during the prior week you might have missed.

On the Internet at Large

We’ve been seeing a lot of seriously cool stuff from the new Marine wave over the past few weeks, but this Blood Angel Captain really stands out. It’s not just the velvety smooth red of the armour, or the insane level of detail like the stress lines in the leather. But the gorgeously realized and incredibly restrained use of OSL to make details like the jumppack exhausts and the angelic feathers just POP. Resplendent.

Keeping on our Marine kick, it’s time to dust off those “don’t talk to me or my son” memes as natalieslinn pairs up the brand new Terminator kit with the 2nd edition Tactical Marine as part of the 90’s Marine Challenge. We always love seeing old minis given justice with modern painting skill, and seeing them sat next to each other really drives home just how far we’ve come over the past 30 years.

It’s time for our now weekly feature “Please Please Please kick through to this profile!” as chemical_sunsetz’ terrain must be seen to be believed. This is the platonic ideal of what comes to mind when it comes to 40k’s architecture. Decrepit yet still barely standing, brutally pragmatic and yet weirdly ornate. Something you can see forming a Battlepile atop of. Pure excellence.

Shunting back a few thousand years for our last feature this week, we’ve got some awesome Perry Brothers French Infantry by yarkshiregamer. Particularly noting the gorgeous work on the company standard and the fallen soldier his comrades are carefully stepping around. Every day the historical bug taunts me in the distance.
