Content We Liked: June 13, 2021

Although it’s a big internet out there, the Warhammer digital universe is pretty small and spread out. In Content We Liked, we take a look at the articles, videos, podcasts, and products that caught our eyes or were noteworthy during the prior week you might have missed.

On the Internet at Large

  • ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD
    @hobbitarn via Twitter
    Rich takes his Kroak a step further by magnetically levitating the model in what’s an amazing effect but probably a huge pain to set up and transport.
  • Hendarion’s Hornet
    @Hendarion via Twitter
    Hendarion has done a stunning job painting this Biel-Tan hornet with an insane amount of freehand work. The result is incredible.
  • Brin’s Vampire Gang
    @Brinty_ via Twitter

    Brin’s done a great job on these Carnevale Strigoi, and the decision to use red for the vampires and not the thralls is a smart touch.

  • Primaris Ebon Keshig
    u/DirtyCop2016 via r/WhiteScars40k
    This is a cool paint job that brings one of the more interesting visual elements of the Horus Heresy White Scars into 40k and the primaris range.
  • Da Meow Krusha
    @Warmillgames via Twitter
    We can see why Warmill Harry wants to show this off – it’s a sweet idea to paint your monsters like your pets and the tabby coat pattern is super unique.
  • Slann on a Realmshaper Engine
    @bradglover_ via Twitter
    This is one of the most insane conversions I’ve ever seen – just a massive model with a ton of detail and a lot going on. It’s also a cool way to use a monolith and spend $500+ on a single model doing conversions. Insanely cool.
  • Meg’s Bastiladon
    @MiniPainterMeg via Twitter
    Meg’s done a lovely job with this big scaly lad.
  • Masuzapper’s Vanari Bannerblade
    @Masuzapper via Twitter
    This model has extremely powerful “mid-90s Golden Demon” vibes. It’s wonderfully painted tub the thing that puts it over the top is the rendition of Hokusai’s “In the well of the great wave of Kanagawa” on the banner, which is just crazy. It’s an amazing touch that also works very well with the faction’s aesthetics.
  • Why are there so few women in Warhammer?
    WIRED magazine
    WIRED tackles an ongoing issue in our space, looking at how misogyny and gatekeeping make the hobby inaccessible. Reminder that if you are looking for better spaces, it’s worth checking out and supporting No More Damsels, who specialize in doing exactly that.
  • Spot the Wonder Drone
    Christoffer Eklund via Artstation

    This is a completely normal servo skull. Move along, fellow Imperial Citizen.
