Wargames Atlantic Raises Prices Due to Tariff Pressure

Wargames Atlantic, the company behind multiple lines of popular historical miniatures, announced last week that it is raising the prices on its product line due to the Trump import tariffs, with the hike going into effect on September 15th.

“We pride ourselves on being incredibly frugal,” writes Wargames Atlantic in a press release. “We have streamlined our operations considerably and we are as virtual of an organization as we can be. The majority of our employees are remote, we use a host of talented freelancers, we constantly monitor our costs and seek out new vendors on a regular basis to keep from complacency. But this time it’s out of our hands.”

Earlier this year, Wargames Atlantic announced that it wouldn’t be increasing the price of its products due to tariffs, including adjusting how the company manufactures its models to increase US production enough to meet local demand. In theory, it’s exactly what the tariffs were supposed to do- force companies from across the board to increase their production within the United States and rely less on foreign factories. Yet even in this nearly ideal scenario, costs are still affected enough to force consumers to pay higher prices.

According to the post, the company is planning to increase their prices across the board by around 8%, though some items are being increased higher than that, with the change going into effect on the 15th of next month. New product will be released with this price change already reflected.

Trench Crusade Rules Release Delayed

The thousands of fans who are ready to leap into the demonically infested Trenches of Trench Crusade will have to wait for a while longer, as Factory Fortress Inc is delaying the release of the remainder of its model pledges as well as both digital and physical copies of its rulebook.

According to the update on its Kickstarter campaign, around 80% of the current model pledges have been shipped following the runaway success of its initial campaign. However, unforeseen manufacturing circumstances at S3D, the company that prints the models for Trench Crusade, have forced Factory Fortress Inc to delay the remaining 20% of pledges.

The delay comes due to around 100 printers at S3D breaking down in various ways. While S3D is prepared for the event of printer malfunction with additional parts in house for repair and replacement, the scale of this breakdown is far larger than the company is equipped to quickly handle, and S3D is forced to order additional parts for the broken printers. Before manufacturing can return to full capacity, S3D needs to wait for the remainder of these replacement parts to arrive as well as complete the necessary fixes on the remaining machines. Factory Fortress Inc doesn’t currently have an expected timeline on when this will be completed, only promising that their partner company is working as hard as they can.

As for the rulebook, Factory Fortress Inc is able to provide more concrete details about when they expect the book to be released. In the update, Factory Fortress Inc states that they were dissatisfied with the initial digital proof of the rulebook sent to them early August, and made multiple changes to the layout of the book as well as additional proofreading. With these changes now completed and the book headed for printing at the end of the month, Factory Fortress Inc expects the rulebooks to reach backers in late October and early November. As for digital rulebooks, the company expects to start adapting the physical rules into a digital format once the printing process is complete, but does not have a timeline on how long that will take and when to expect it to be ready.

Steamforged Brings Back Old School Elves and Undead in New Command Starter

Credit: Steamforged Games

Steamforged Games is giving longtime fans of Warmachine a throwback treat with its newest 2 player command box, titled Frozen and Forgotten, pitting the undead Orgoth horrors of the Graveborn against vengeful Nyss hunters of the Final Hunt.

The Nyss are led by Lanyssa Ryssyl, a familiar face in the story of the Iron Kingdoms. Ryssyl has been on a quest for revenge ever since Everblight corrupted the Nyss people, and now continues that quest with renewed zeal following the deaths of the Elven gods. She is accompanied by two sabertooth warbeasts, Bensai and Sasha, as well as the expert marksman Cylena Raefyll and the stoic members of the Last Watch.

While the Last Hunt fight to protect what life is left for the doomed Nyss, Graveborn are warriors steeped in power from beyond the grave. These warriors are undead warriors and warlords from the first Orgoth invasion of Immoren, sealed away long ago in ancient sepulchres before being unleashed upon the world again by the Sea Raiders. They’re led by Anathia, The Imperishable Desolation, a powerful general of yore whose strength is undiminished after long centuries in isolation. She commands a force of imposing undead warriors and warbeasts, such as the Revenant Champion and Barrow Ghoul, and intends to finish the mission of conquest she started long ago.

Each side is a callback to the early history of the game, bringing back fan favorite characters and familiar aesthetics, and represent a 30 point force that can be used in games of Warmachine. Both will have independent rules released on the Warmachine app, and are compatible cadres for two of the game’s preexisting factions. The Final Hunt can be used with the forces of Dusk, while the Graveborn can be used for the Orgoth. The box is currently up for preorder on the Steamforged Games website, and is scheduled to release on November 14th.

Roblox Sued by State of Louisiana Over Child Endangerment

No, you are not having a fever dream, that is a real headline.

The state of Louisiana is suing owners of the popular game Roblox, claiming that the game is a hotbed for child predators abusing its popularity with young audiences.

State Attorney General Liz Murrill announced the action on her social media page, writing “Due to Roblox’s lack of safety protocols, it endangers the safety of the children of Louisiana. Roblox is overrun with harmful content and child predators because it prioritizes user growth, revenue, and profits over child safety. Every parent should be aware of the clear and present danger poised to their children by Roblox so they can prevent the unthinkable from ever happening in their own home.”

The lawsuit claims that the Roblox Corporation has failed to implement safety measures to protect children from online predation, such as not having any method to prevent a child from lying about their age before signing up to avoid having to get parental permission, and is in violation of the Louisiana Unfair Trade Practices Act. The AG also cites an arrest made in Livingston Parish related to Roblox and child endangerment on the platform.

The Roblox Corporation rebuffs this lawsuit in a statement on its website, stating that it is committed to the safety of its users and has enacted over 40 new parental and safety tools in the past year alone.

“Any assertion that Roblox would intentionally put our users at risk of exploitation is simply untrue,” the company wrote in their statement. “No system is perfect and bad actors adapt to evade detection, including efforts to take users to other platforms, where safety standards and moderation practices may differ. We continuously work to block those efforts and to enhance our moderation approaches to promote a safe and enjoyable environment for all users.”

The case was filed on August 14th, and there are currently no further details about when the case will be headed to court.

PayPal No Longer Available in Some Regions on Steam

Credit: Valve Corp.

Valve confirmed last week that following the moral panic regarding content hosted on Steam, the popular payment processor PayPal has pulled out from the platform in several regions around the world.

In a statement to the popular gaming website Rock Paper Shotgun, Valve confirmed that one of the banks associated with PayPal has ceased processing payments from Steam for a number of currencies around the world. Currently, PayPal is only accepting steam transactions that use Euro, the British Pound, the Japanese Yen, and Australian, and Canadian or U.S. dollars, with all other currencies barred from use.

“In early July 2025, PayPal notified Valve that their acquiring bank for payment transactions in certain currencies was immediately terminating the processing of any transactions related to Steam,” Valve told RPS. “This affects Steam purchases using PayPal in currencies other than EUR, CAD, GBP, JPY, AUD and USD.”

Valve assured RPS that it is working to resolve this issue with PayPal and its partnering banks, and until it is able to come to an agreement with the platform it encourages its users from affected regions to use other payment processing methods when making purchases on Steam.

This is the latest chapter in the ongoing fallout of the actions taken by Collective Shout, an Australian lobbying group who have pressured large payment processing corporations like PayPal, Mastercard, and Visa to cease transactions from Steam and itch.io due to sexually explicit content hosted on their online stores. Since then, Steam and itch have scrambled to remove these games to appease these payment companies, which has raised a wider concern in the gaming community over giving these banking companies large moderating power over the games uploaded to these platforms.
