The guard represent a diverse fighting force which uses combined arms to take down foes using a wide variety of versatile units.
Faction Overview
The Astra Militarum are an army that can take on many forms depending on how you want to represent them. They’re one of the game’s most versatile forces, able to field everything from heavy tanks to cavalry to light infantry. The one area they struggle with is melee, but even there you can throw bricks of Ogryn at the enemy as you wear them down with superior firepower from a distance. As an army the guard excel at burying their enemies under ranged firepower and sheer numbers, bolstered by orders from their commanding officers. Using the Astra Militarum well is about using these elements together, combining units to create overlapping fields of fire and whittling down an opponent. Guard armies excel at scoring and performing actions, and even when they start games behind have more ability to catch up than most. Learning to use these elements well takes time and practice, but the good news is we’ve got you covered with the guides below.
