Support Goonhammer Update: New Merch, Tabletop Battles Updates, and Podcasts for Patrons

Hey everyone, Robert “TheChirurgeon” Jones here. I’ve talked about this before but you should support us! The best way to do that is by subscribing to Goonhammer on Patreon. I’m going to go ahead and put the link to do that right here:

Goonhammer is a creator-owned business. We have about 50 owners right now who have voting rights and determine the direction of the company. Right now Goonhammer has four full-time employees and a web of about 70 freelancers, all of whom are paid for their work here, and that we can do that is only made possible by the support we receive from our wonderful patrons. Sure, there’s ad revenue, but even a $2 per month donation – the minimum you need to disable ads on the site – is worth more to us than a month’s worth of ads from you. And all of that money goes back to the people who work on the site.

So if you’re on the fence and have two bucks to spare, consider tossing those our way.

But if you need more reasons or are looking for other ways to support us, read on.

New Merch!

We’ve been working on some new merch. Right now it’s all on our Redbubble store but we’re looking for a new merch partner to work with. But until we find said partner, I’m going to keep drawing crazy bullshit and putting it on shirts and stickers. Here’s what I’ve been up to recently:

Daemonhunters

I was drawing the Black Library banner and had an idea of a crossover image and it just fit too perfectly to not do a full image. So then four hours later, here we are. Mira is my favorite of these but the rest work wonderfully. On of the things I’ve drawn recently that I’m more proud of and I already have one I ordered for myself.

And if you want some simplified versions on stickers or shirts, I did those too about a week later.

Jester

Master

Solitaire

I’ve put up the links to stickers there but you can get them on shirts too, and I’m pretty sure there’s a shirt design that has all three together, so if you want something more minimalist, that’s your option.

On the other hand, maybe the latest Netflix sensation isn’t your thing (that’s a shame, it’s legitimately good and the songs are bangers). Well, good news, I have a different, entirely insane mash-up for you to consider:

The Horse Heresy

The Horse Heresy

Look. Look. I know. This is by far one of the dumbest pun-based designs I’ve done and I say that here on the site that’s running the article series “Meatwatch.” But I started sketching this one and drawing Horse up there, and then I was so impressed with how it turned out that I decided to keep going and do the rest of the scene. And now we all have to live with the fact that this exists. You’re welcome.

There’s a version without a background too, if you just want the characters on teh steps there.

The “Ooba Drivva Sucked Me Off” Sticker

You can get this on a shirt too but that seems PRETTY AGGRESSIVE. Either way, this one has been a mainstay on our Discord for a while now and I put it into proper illustrated format finally.

New Podcasts!

We’re still doing patron-only podcasts here, and we’re up to episode 23 of our weekly “HAMS Radio” series, wherein Norman and I track hobby progress and talk about new releases.

HAMS Radio Episode 23: Challenger Cup Decompress

I also joined “CaptainRaffi” Raf Cordero last week on his Patron-exclusive podcast, The Campaign Trail, to talk about running Map Campaigns. After his last episode on them a patron asked for more advice on running them, so I popped in to offer some thoughts on how to run them, from picking how complicated to make them to determining how to reward players mid-campaign for playing games.

New Administratum Updates!

The Space Wolves update is LIVE right now in Administratum! Our new developer is fully onboarded now and has completed this one, so if you’re a $5 patron, you can hop on and start Oathsworn Campaigns with the Sons of Russ. We’ve also fixed some of the Astra Militarum stratagems.

Up next: Updating Leagues of Votann, since the current build has the White Dwarf rules, and those are wrong. We’re also working on adding support for Armageddon.

New Tabletop Battles Features!

We’ve been hard at work adding new features to Tabletop Battles. This week you’re now able to track games of Kill Team using the 2025 Approved Ops mission pack, and we’ve added Helsmiths of Hashut in there as an official faction for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar.

On top of that, we recently added subscriber features to Tabletop Battles. One of the big ones there is pregame checklists for Warhammer 40k and now Age of Sigmar and Kill Team – these give you a handy list of questions to ask before a game, with questions like “do you have any units that can go back into reserves?” and “Do you have any units which can advance/run and also charge?”

Thank You

If you’re already a patron, thanks again – we appreciate your support immensely, and it’s because of you that we’re able to do this. I’ve seen most of you on our Discord and I have to say, it’s legitimately one of the best communities on the internet. Even our worst posters are better on their worst day than what you’ll find in most other communities and I’m proud of the crew we’ve assembled.

If you’d like to join us and support hte things we do, the best way is through Patreon, and I’m going to put the button on here one more time, in case you’ve scrolled so far you can’t see the previous one. Here ya go:

The money you contribute goes toward paying our writers more, hiring more people, and building out new and exciting features in our apps and on our website. So it’s not just about what you get today, but making the whole thing better in the future.

So thanks again to our existing Patrons and thank you for reading this far and giving us some additional consideration. I’ll see you on the Discord.
