Today’s Tabletop Battles Update Adds 40k Player Features

Hey everyone, we’re excited to announce that we’ve been hard at working improving Tabletop Battles, figuring out where and how to add new games and features. While we’re currently working on updates to Age of Sigmar game tracking (rooting out and fixing some final bugs) and Asymmetrical games in 40k, we wanted to reveal our newest set of updates: 40k Player Features!

If you haven’t already downloaded Tabletop Battles, you should go get it – it’s the best way to track games of Warhammer 40k by far, and we also support Age of Sigmar, Killteam, The Old World, Horus Heresy, and Conquest, with support for multiple modes for each.

With that out of the way: Starting this weekend (today if you’re on Android, and the app is available for beta testing on iOS), you’ll be able to add faction-specific trackers to your 40k games to track things like Pain Tokens, Battle Focus Tokens, and Resurgence Points, as well as once-per game things like Mission Tactics and Combat Doctrines and per-round stuff like your active Blessings of Khorne.

Here’s a quick rundown of every tracker we’ve added so far. We’re working on adding the few we missed, and you can bet that Yield Points will be added for Votann when the Codex releases.

We’ve also added a pregame checklist feature for games, allowing you to run through a basic list of questions before each game, such as “do you have any way to advance and charge?” and “do you have units that can go back into reserves?”

These lists are fully editable, so you can add your own questions and change them around, and we’re hard at working on adding them for Age of Sigmar and Kill Team once we’ve finalized lists that make more sense for those games.

These features are available to Goonhammer Patrons who subscribe to Goonhammer at the $5 level and above. We’ve been wracking our brains for a while on what we could add to the app that would make sense to charge for without diminishing the free experience, and we feel like these hit the mark – useful quality of life features that don’t feel like something you *need* to have for the app to work. So if you want to get these features but haven’t subscribed yet, head over to Patreon and give us a sub:

In addition to all these cool new features, you’ll also get access to our Discord, exclusive content like our patrons-only podcast, new features in Administratum, and the ability to view Goonhammer ad-free.

What’s Next?

We’ll be rolling out more updates in the next few weeks, here are a few things we’re currently working on:

  • Age of Sigmar GHB bugfixes
  • 40k: Asymmetric Missions
  • AoS and Killteam pregame questions
  • Age of Sigmar faction trackers
  • Horus Heresy 3.0 support
  • Updates for The Old World missions
  • Combat Patrol and Spearhead updates
  • Teams features

If that seems like a lot well, it is! As always, your support is crucial to being able to do this work, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of it without the support of our wonderful patrons.
