The Best Year in Gaming: 1977 vs. 1989

Welcome back to our Best Year in Gaming March Madness bracket competition! Yesterday we looked at 2020 vs. 2011 and I honestly expected the results to be closer. That said, Goonhammer patrons disagreed, voting up Skyrim over the releases in 2020 and giving us our first upset of the tournament, at least from a seeding standpoint.

Result: 2011 Wins

Next up we’re looking at what I suspect will be another blowout. 1977 has some fun entries and some real underrated gems, but ultimately can’t compete with a powerhouse like 1989. Still, check out the years and let us know what you think.

After we wrap this one up we have another squash tomorrow (1995 has a strong chance of making the final four) and then we’re back to very tight competition on Saturday, so stay tuned for those.

If you’re interested in voting on the outcome, head over to our Patreon and join our Discord server to vote. Otherwise, check back tomorrow for the winner and the next matchup in the Southeast Conference.
