Last Weekend’s Events

Another week, another slew of 40k RTTs. I guess AoS folks are just waiting for the new edition.

Sabre and Sector Cville’s May RTT

First up is an RTT from Charlottesville. James Lovett won the event with their Firestorm list featuring a real interesting list that includes Infernus Squads, two RepExes, and a couple erad squads. There’s a ton of really lethal squads here and Firestorm makes them highly mobile.

  • James Lovett (Team Dragon’s Hoard) – Space Marines
  • Sawyer Anderson (Sector Cville) -Space Marines
  • Travis Holland – Space Marines

GUTI Slamfest – May 2024

(Winnipeg, Manitoba)

Over in Manitoba, we have another 40k RTT. Logan Antonation took the gold with their T’au. I had to double check that this was in fact a new codex T’au list because its a pretty classic fish of fury Kayoun list. Lots of breachers, some Hammerhead support, and some suits to back it all up helps to solidify a really strong initial punch to keep your opponent off balance.

  • Logan Antonation (United Wargamers) – T’au Empire
  • Frederick Schellenberg (United Wargamers) – Black Templars
  • Kylee Plouffe (That Other Group) – Adepta Sororitas

Game Knight Spring Open Warhammer 40,000 Tournament

Ok no preamble on this one. There’s 210 models in this guard list. Full disclosure I’m pretty late with this one and I’m writing it deep into the night before it goes up and looking at this list made my blood pressure sky rocket. There’s 190 infantry along with 20 rough riders which lets be honest may as well be infantry. I guess the list just floods the board with bodies? This is a nightmare.

Luke Rolph (Kno) – Astra Militarum

Eric Lyakhovetsky – Dark Angels

Milo May (The Funky Bunch) – Dark Angels

Huzzah Hobbies RTT May

Coming back to Virginia and over to my backyard is the Huzzah Hobbies RTT. I was actually at this one and had an opportunity to play the winner of the event, Jonas Beardsley, in round 2. Guys, that list was messed up. It’s five Dreadknights and Canis with some infantry bozos to hold objectives or something. Honestly we didn’t get that far as I was tabled on top of 3. I won best painted though so who’s the real winner? (it was Jonas, he got three straight 100 games, its pretty messed up)

Jonas Beardsley (Plastic Crack Anonymous) – Grey Knights

Evan Bernett (Plastic Crack Anonymous) – Death Guard

Matthew Aksamit (Plastic Crack Anonymous) – Space Wolves
