Content We Liked: 2nd June, 2024

Although it’s a big internet out there, the Tabletop digital universe is pretty small and spread out. In Content We Liked, we take a look at the articles, videos, podcasts, and products that caught our eyes or were noteworthy during the prior week you might have missed.

On the Internet at Large

Summer’s finally upon us, and in the United Kingdom that means two things. Whining about how much a 99 ice-cream costs now, and inexplicable folk traditions. Cheese Rolling is one of those and is just as lethal a sport as Blood Bowl is, with this lil’ tribute diorama capturing the sheer chaos of the tradition perfectly. A beautiful slice of British brainworms.

Its always cool to see Cities of Sigmar armies pay tribute to the Empire that was, and this Cavalier-Marshall is a prime example, taking inspiration from the classic White Wolves of Middenheim for a grizzled, roughly-hewn look that contrasts splendidly with the knightly splendour of the base miniature.

We love a Necromundan Weirdo here on Goonhammer, and this absolute unit of a bounty hunter fits the bill to a tee. There’s a little bit of the 2000AD in his design, making clever use of a Votann Exo-Armour as the basis for the rotundness of his form. A relentlessly charming mini.

How to Paint Reflective Surfaces and Shiny Objects

A little outside our usual wheelhouse, but if you’re looking to expand your painting knowledge a little, a read of this excellent article wouldn’t go amiss, looking at the principles of how light refracts off a surface and how to replicate that with non-reflective paint. A fascinating piece.
