Last Weekend’s Event

We have quite a few events to get to this week so let’s jump right into things.

Love Hurts ’24 ITC RTT

(Manchester, CT)

Ionus Cryptborn – Credit Bair

First off we have an AoS RTT to take a look out of Manchester CT. The event was won by Andy Shea and their Stormcast list. The list features Ionus Cryptborn and a big ol’ unit of reinforced dragons to stomp the yard supported by some annihilators and Vindicators. Seems like a fun list, congrats Andy!

  1. Andy Shea – Stormcast Eternals
  2. Dylan Therriault (Fusilier Memorial Society) – Blades of Khorne
  3. Adam Wenstein (HLD) – Gloomspite Gitz

Tables and Towers AoS February RTT

Next up is another AoS RTT this time from Tables and Towers. The winning list was Jonathan Weaver’s Bonereapers, using the new Manfred themed army of renown, Arkhan the Black, and a reinforced unit of Morghast Archai. Seems like a pretty meaty list and fun to play.

  1. Jonathan Weaver (Warphammer) – Ossiarch Bonereapers
  2. Matthew Obringer (Bottom Table Bullies) – Slaves to Darkness
  3. Bill Hennessey (Bottom Table Bullies) – Flesh Eater Courts

For Duty and Glory

(Montreal, Quebec)

Here we have a 40k GT out of Canada. The winning army was Bruno Choquette’s Custodes. The list is much of what you’d expect; Wardens, Guard, Allarus, Blade Champs, etc. As the meta shifts to a more shiny and golden flavor, I expect to be reporting on more of these.

  1. Bruno Choquette (Imperia-Lys) – Adeptus Custodes
  2. Mathieu Bastien (Northern Defenders) – Adeptus Astartes
  3. Sebastien Geoffrion (Trash Tier) – Blood Angels

GUTI Slamfest

(Winnipeg, Manitoba)

Next up is a 40k RTT out of Winnipeg. David Zhou’s Necrons took the event with a Canoptek Court list going all in on the Wraith bit. The list has 18 Wraiths with each squad getting a technomancer to buff em up and are backed up by 2 C’tans to help be even more hard to shift.

  1. David Zhou – Necrons
  2. Lawrence Hill (GUTI) – Aeldari
  3. Curtis Song – Tyranids

Geekfest – Warhammer 40k GT

(Nearwater, NS)

Here we have yet another 40k GT. Long time readers will know I’m not the biggest fan of elves, and when I saw they won this I was less than thrilled. That said Jonathon Betteridge was brave enough to bring the Skathatch Wraithknight, and while I’m a bit exhausted by all the endless datasheets Aeldari continue to pull from thin air, I gotta respect the knight.

  • Jonathon Betteridge (Halifax privateers) – Aeldari
  • Justin White (Halifax privateers) – T’au
  • Matthew Reeson (Halifax privateers) – Necrons

The Grim Rumpus – 40k Winter Series 2024

(Rutland, VT)

Grey Knights Nemesis Dreadknight. Credit: Colin Ward

Back in the US we have a 40k RTT. James Howard’s Grey Knights took the event and its one hell of a list. Mostly because it takes three Dreadknights which is sick as hell because there’s big robots. It also has Purifiers with Crowe hanging out which is neat enough but Dreadknights!

  1. James Howard (That Dreadknight Tied The Room Together Man!) – Grey Knights
  2. Logan Vanderwarker (Northern keep) – Chaos Daemons
  3. Mike Salamone – Votann
